City Center Dance is the culmination of two decades worth of training, performing, and teaching all over the tri-state area. Dina Giordano, artistic director, is thrilled to bring her talents back home! Dina and her staff are dedicated to teaching the art of dance to children and adults alike, and to making the experience both educational and fun for all. A positive atmosphere is what you will find at City Center Dance, but most of all professional instruction is what you will receive. Whether you are in it because you live it or love it, students will learn the technique, terminology, placement, line and grace of movement that accompanies his/her desired style of dance.

Dina Giordano (artistic director) is a Westchester native. She received her dance training at SUNY Purchase, and graduated magna cum laude with her BBA from Pace University. She has worked with renowned NYC choreographers Michele Assaf, Danny Catanach, Lisa Dawn Cave, Lisa Hopkins, and Val Suarez, to name a few. Company credits include principal dancer for Dawn's Light, Extended Dance, Off Center Dance Theatre, and Oil & Water Dance. Past performances include DRA's "The Remember Project", Broadway Dance Center's "The Gypsy Project", Broadway Cares, Dance Cares I, II & III, performances at Webster Hall and dancer for the Arena Football League. Most recently Dina choreographed the winning routine for Miss Fitness 2005 and was assistant coach and choreographer for the USBL Westchester Wildfire Dance Team.

 

Emily Glaze (ballet) was born in Kingston, Jamaica and has been studying dance and performing since the age of three. Emily is a graduate of Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, 2004 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree. She received her high school diploma from Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA with a major in Ballet. She has studied at The Ailey School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, The Kirov Academy of Ballet, The Ballet Center and Jamaica School of Dance in Kingston, Jamaica. Emily has performed in works by George Balanchine including Serenade and Stars and Stripes, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, The Nutcracker at Walnut Hill School, Purchase College and The Ballet Center. Emily has taught extensively in Jamaica at The Ballet Center, The Jamaica School of Dance and at Walnut Hill School.

 Danny "King Kong" Josephs (pop n' lock/break) comes to  City Center Dance from right here in White Plains, NY. Dannny has honed his techniques thru competitions and performances. Most recently he won a competition hosted by the producers of "You Got Served", starred in videos by Shaggy and Jay-I, and is currently working on his first independent film. 






Soraya Lundy (pop n’ lock, hip hop) A graduate of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts with a major in dance, Soraya has worked as the Resident Choreographer of the Hip Hop Dance Conservatory making her the youngest choreographer of a professional institution. She began her dance career at a very young age and continued her studies as a scholarship student at the Martha Graham School and the Alvin Ailey Professional Program. She was a choreographer, dance captain and repertory company member with the world-renowned CityKids Foundation and has worked with some of the top choreographers in the hip hop dance industry. She started her training at the age of 15 as a hip hop dance choreographer and principal dancer with BLADE Dance Academy. After Soraya’s position as the Resident Choreographer for the Hip Hop Dance Conservatory, she excels at teaching dance enthusiasts of all ages the skills necessary to become a hip hop dance professional. She is a dedicated and gifted individual and continues to make amazing progress in the field of hip-hop dance.

Debbie Spahr (tap, jazz, creative movement) is a dance theater graduate of Mahattanville College . She has performed and choreographed all over Westchester County , including starring in Westchester Broadway Theater's productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Parusia. Debbie also performed aboard Regency Cruise Lines, and her voice can be heard as 'The Princess' in the award winning children's recording of The Frog Prince.  Most recently, Debbie won the prestigious Helen Hayes Award for Best Choreography in the production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
 

Jacklyn Garza (jazz, creative movement) Jacklyn has been dancing since the age of three.  Her training began in Kansas City, MO, where she competed both nationally and internationally. Jacklyn has won numerous awards and scholarships enabling her to train in some of the top dance school on both the east and west coast. After graduating High school she continued her dancing career with the “World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes”. Her time spent in Texas consisted of numerous performances and intensive training with top choreographers and master teachers.  Jacklyn continued her profession in the City of Lights, Las Vegas, NV. While there, Jacklyn danced professionally in the Rio Hotel and Casino’s famous show “Masquerade Show in the Sky”. Other credits included, R. Kelly-Billboard Music Awards, America’s Got Talent- 1st season, Nathan Burton’s Comedy Magic Show, The V-Show, Naked Hearts AIDS Benefit, and other various performances.  She is excited to start a new journey here in New York with her fiancé Michael and dog Ninja.


Erica Vozzo (jazz, hip hop) began dancing at the age of 3 in Brooklyn, NY. She is now an award winning soloist and title winner from many competitions throughout the United States. She is a 2007 graduate of St. John’s University, where she was captain of the nationally ranked St. John’s University Dance Team. Erica also performs with KTU as a backup dancer for various artists including Deborah Cox, Reina, Rich Luzzi, and TKA at their annual “Beatstock”. She strives to instill a passion for dance in each child she teaches to help them achieve their dreams and goals. She is thrilled to bring forth this passion at City Center Dance!


Michelle Keriazis (jazz, hip hop) Michelle is thrilled to be back “home” teaching at City Center Dance after a two year hiatus.  She has studied all disciplines of dance since the age of five and has performed, taught and choreographed throughout Westchester County.  Her performance and choreography credits include Parusia, Chess, West Side Story, Tommy, Company, Children of Eden, Heart & Music, Carousel, Lil’ Abner, The Wiz, and Bye Bye Birdie.  Working along side George Puello, Artistic Director of the Westchester Broadway Theater, she had choreographed for the Westchester Broadway Dreamcoats and for two benefit productions of Mr. Puello’s Parusia and Scattered Thoughts at the Westchester Broadway Theater.  However, Michelle’s biggest and best accomplishment was delivered in January of 2007, when her beautiful baby boy was born.



Katie Russell (tap, ballet, jazz) Katie currently resides in NYC and is thrilled to be a new addition to the City Center staff.  Katie’s television credits include Target commercials, AMC and HBO specials.  She has performed with Sacramento Music Circus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and her other theater credits include Carousel, Mame, 42nd Street, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  She traveled the world as a dancer and dance captain aboard the Radisson Seven Seas Cruise Mariner and toured nationally with the Rhythm in Shoes Tap Company.  While in Los Angeles, Katie did various industrials, worked with Disney, performed with the Backstreet Boys, and was in the theatrical production Shag with a Twist.  This holiday season, you can find her kicking as a Radio City Rockette in their famous Christmas Spectacular.  When not performing Katie can be found choreographing and teaching master classes at various studios throughout the USA.  Katie is a BFA graduate from the University of Cincinnati and a scholarship recipient to both EDGE Performing Arts Center in CA and Broadway Dance Center in NY.

 

Jami Comoustos (jazz, hip hop) Jami is a four year member of the nationally ranked St. John's University Dance Team. She has also been a captain of the team for the past two years and is responsible for a large percentage of team choreography. She began her dancing career at Landrum School of Dance in Queens where she studied jazz, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical and tap for 15 years. She has participated in many studio competitions such as Dance Educators of America, All American and Starpower. Jami also judges many local and state dance team competitions.
